Position Summary
As a seasoned professional, the Program Manager III demonstrates
excellence in managing complex portfolios of energy efficiency
programs. In this hands-on management role, you will provide
leadership to all aspects of an energy program and will work
closely with both clients and our energy professionals to achieve
client energy efficiency goals and other program objectives. The
Program Manager III position is responsible for program budget
development and oversight, expert financial acumen, and is a
strategic partner to the client advising and making recommendations
for program improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Actively engage in talent management process, including
interviewing, resource planning and utilization, engagement
planning, performance evaluations, and more.
- May manage other Program Managers.
- Act as the Senior Leader over program portfolios and
lower-level program managers including mentoring, coaching, and
development.
- Proactively provide best-in-class communication and reporting
to clients.
- Oversee program operations to ensure client requirements are
met and continuously provide innovation to clients.
- Develop and expand client relationships as a trusted advisor;
build strong relationships at all levels of client's and key
stakeholders' organizations.
- Lead partner and client contract management process.
- Strengthen opportunities for community engagement, such as
establishing relationships with community colleges, utilities, and
condo associations.
- Lead and support company-wide safety efforts.
- Orchestrate partnership and work between centralized functions
and program staff.
- Recognize when issues are occurring and take proper steps
towards resolution.
- Develop a network of diversity service providers.
- Develop and deliver polished client presentations; respond to
client questions with confidence and accuracy.
- Ensure successful delivery of program goals as indicated in
Statement of Work.
- Monitor and manage program budgets to ensure full utilization
of funds while meeting or exceeding energy goals.
- Prepare monthly invoices and activity reports as required to
the client, partner, or company management by the requested due
date.
- Analyze, make recommendations, and advise on financial metrics
while reporting on and driving program performance.
- Co-lead with Business Development in collaboration on
sector-based program design and client expansions.
- Anticipate needs in all programmatic functions and make
recommendations to improve client relationships and program
offerings.
Position Requirements
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
required.
- Background in engineering, technology, or science and
experience in a technical environment - preferred.
- 6 or more years of management experience or 3 or more years
managing energy efficiency programs or equivalent
experience.
- Proven track record of high-level performance in meeting and
exceeding expectations and goals.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Proven leadership in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize workload and delegate appropriate work
assignments.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and
written.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data and solve practical
problems.
- Committed to diversity and inclusion.
Licenses & Certifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) - preferred.
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel up to 40%.
