role as a Staff Product Manager, Core Products, you will deliver
products and capabilities to significantly enhance the data
quality, coverage & API capabilities for Checkr's National Criminal
(NatCrim) Database. A National Criminal search is a fundamental
step in Checkr's background checks. Our NatCrim Database offers key
people risk information and covers 90%+ of the United States
population, with 750+ million records, 6,000+ individual criminal
sources, 2,400+ counties, and 4,000+ courts. You will play a
pivotal role in differentiating Checkr's core products and
delighting candidates & customers as well as partnering closely
with internal teams on fulfillment and operations.What you'll
do
- Drive the product roadmap and strategy for NatCrim - Database
and the Search APIs.
- Use data and insights to define relevant metrics and goals for
NatCrim.
- Drive new product capabilities to have a larger NatCrim
database with fresher & more accurate data over an increased
coverage of sources.
- Define & maintain prioritization of current data sources within
NatCrim as well as new data sources to be added within
NatCrim.
- Drive technology improvements that result in modernizing the
search APIs to increase its reliability.
- Define the NatCrim strategy and ways of working for non-core
use cases like Checkr Trust and Consumer reporting agency
customers.
- Collaborate with a large engineering team of over 20.
- Build deep understanding and empathy for external and internal
users of Checkr.
- Lead meetings with product marketing and technology partners to
deeply understand, document, analyze and synthesize customer needs
into product priorities, roadmap plans, and detailed
specifications.
- Drive cross-functional decisions & alignment. Effectively
communicate across all departments in the company.What you bring
- 7+ years as a PM, with recent experience working on a data or
platform product.
- Experience in understanding the data, legal, and technical
nuances of supporting complex products.
- Strong technical background to enable you to contribute
meaningful features and seamless integration.
- Attention to detail is a must. You have an instinct for good
product design.
- An ability to manage project ambiguity, complexity, and
interdependencies in an organized and structured way.
- Ability to be fly-high and fly-low in a high performance
environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility to travel to Santiago, Chile where a significant
portion of the engineering team is located.What you'll get
